  • Free Parking - Limited free parking is available behind St George's on Woolwich New Road, a one way street, approached from Grand Depot Road. Other on street parking is available within walking distance, and in Woolwich car parks (check opening/closing times).

Road Directions

By Foot The entrance to St George's is opposite the Royal Artillery Barracks on the South Circular A205 between the junctions of Grand Depot Road and Woolwich New Road. A footpath with steps provides access from Woolwich New Road (free parking) to the entrance.

How to get here: St George's is a ten minute walk from Woolwich Arsenal DLR and mainland stations. Please see map and bus stop map downloads below.

By Bus Buses 122, 161, 178, 244 and 469 stop a short distance from the Church. Use the "Gunner Lane" (stop F) Southbound in Woolwich New Road; Northbound use "Gunner Lane" (stop C) or the "Naafi Messing Store" (stop D) on the South Circular A205. Or the Ha Ha Road or Nightingale Place stops. (The "Royal Garrison Church" bus stop is not near!). Please see download maps below.
