Clare Summerskill performs an original cocktail of stand-up and comedy songs

About

Clare Summerskill is a lesbian comedian who performs an original cocktail of stand-up and comedy songs to LGBTQ+ audiences both in the UK and in the US. She brings "Dyke" humour to the forefront of alternative comedy and has been described on Radio 4 Woman’s Hour as “A Lesbian Victoria Wood.”

Clare also writes and performs her own stage shows. She is currently on tour with her latest full-length show Why God Created Lesbians! As a writer, Clare contributed to the last series of Weekending on BBC Radio 4, and to Heated Rollers (R4) and she also both wrote for and appeared in the first ever pilot for a lesbian and gay sketch show on Radio 4, So What If I Am? Clare is described by What’s On as “One of the funniest women in the country and The Stage states that “Summerskill is engaging throughout. Yelps of recognition from the audience show her observations ring true!”

Clare is a patron of several organisations, all of which perform outstanding work in supporting and celebrating the LGBTQ+ community.
