If you prefer riverside views, then Greenwich has an incredible 8.5 miles of open river frontage, stretching from Deptford across the entire Borough to Thamesmead. The Thames Path is a cycling and walking super-highway that directly links Greenwich Peninsula to Charlton, Woolwich and Abbey Wood via a route that includes public art, a cable car, an ecology park, and abbey ruins.

Head inland at Charlton by the world’s largest flood defence barrier to explore a walk that connects almost uninterrupted parkland from the Thames to London’s most impressive Jacobean manor house. You can continue over to some of the oldest woodland in Britain to find an enchanting castle folly at the highest natural point of south east London, from the top of which, you can see out across seven of London's surrounding counties!
