Walking Deptford's Legacy of Slavery

About

Walking tour on some of London's oldest streets which highlights the debt the UK owes to the transatlantic trade in enslaved humans and the fight for its abolition.

MoSaF is a community group and charity established in 2019 to draw attention to the debt the UK owes to those whose lives were cut short, or forever ruined, by the transatlantic trade in enslaved humans. MoSaF Deptford honours their legacy by remembering them on a two hour walk tour through the streets, past public buildings, through parks and dockyards beside the River Thames in London.

London's position as the country's first ever slaving port is little recognised. Alongside the grandeur of its palaces and squares, or the prosperity of its financial institutions, there runs another story - one which deserves to be heard.
