Imagine it’s 2030. What do you see when you look outside of your window?

The Big Dream is a celebration of human imagination, collated from over 50,000 dreams. A video projection depicting global dreams of what the world will look like in 2030 will be unveiled in Lower Grand Square on 22nd February (22.2.22).

The Old Royal Naval College will be the only location in the UK to be showing the projected artwork, one of 20 iconic venues worldwide, including Times Square in New York, Shibuya Crossing in Tokyo, Tower of David in Jerusalem, Mount Kilimanjaro and Qutb Minar Tower in India, before the digital artwork travels to the International Space Station as part of the Rakia Mission.

You can see the projection from Tuesday 22nd February - Sunday 27th February, from 5pm - 9pm daily, and hear a talk from artist GŁOWA on the opening night.

* The Big Dream projection has been designed by GŁOWA, an audiovisual artist based in Edinburgh, Scotland. He makes digital artworks that explore the human condition through singular moments in time and feeling. His use of movement, music and storytelling creates unique and compelling pieces of work. The Big Dream project hopes to capture 100,000 dreams for the future from around the world and it’s not too late to send in your dream. What does this world look like to you? There are also Big Dream family-friendly workshops over February. During Half Term there are free drop-in activities from 17th - 19th February centred around designing the future and exploring ways to improve the way we reuse, recycle, travel and what powering the future might look like.

Creative ceramic and card painting workshops making dream themed gifts for Mother’s Day will take place on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th February in the Mews Schoolroom.

Local ceramicist Fiona Veacock will be running clay workshops making a pair of candle votives with studio clay and tools on Saturday 26th February making a pair of candle votives from studio clay & tools.

On 27th February, well-known local artist Edythe Peters run workshops to paint your own original Mother’s Day cards working with watercolour techniques and the themes and subjects inspired by The Big Dream.
