An illustrated walk tracing the route of an 1823 procession, which travelled from St Alfege Church to the nearby site of the new chapel

About

An illustrated walk led by Dr Alison Fisher will trace the route of an 1823 procession, which travelled from St Alfege Church to the nearby site of the new chapel of ease, St Mary’s Church. We will consider the architectural impact of St Mary’s Church and discover what became of the crypt after the church was demolished in 1936.

Starting and finishing at St Alfege Church - wear suitable shoes and clothing for walking outside.
