Regents Opera roars back into life with a concert of typically epic magnitude!

Following their critically acclaimed Ring Cycle earlier this year, they open their 2025-26 season with two late Romantic masterpieces -Richard Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll and Gustav Mahler’s mighty Symphony no.2 ‘Resurrection’.

Regents Opera have made their name by performing operatic works of the grandest scale and this opening concert will set the tone for another season of spectacular music making.

Stars of the Ring CycleCatharine Woodward and Mae Heydorn join the expanded Regents Opera orchestra and a chorus of singers from all over the South East, all under the baton of artistic director, Ben Woodward.

The evening begins with Wagner’s beautiful birthday gift to his wife, his Siegfried Idyll – a truly fitting way to link the glory of the Ring Cycle to the future of Regents Opera.

Following the delicate chamber music of Wagner is one of the greatest symphonic works ever written – Mahler’s epic meditation on life, death and rebirth promises to be a profoundly moving experience for performers and audience alike.
