In this session, learn how to work with clay and the basics of hand-building and throwing on the wheel

About

On this pottery course you will have a complete overview on how to work with clay and will learn the basics of hand-building and throwing on the wheel.

Together you will explore different hand building techniques such as pinch pot, slab building and coiling and will also learn wheel-throwing including wedging, centering, pulling up the walls and making basic shapes such as mugs, bowls and pots. You will also explore painting with underglazes as well as dip glazing and learn about several different decoration techniques.

The  tutor will give you all the tips and techniques to develop any project you have in mind!

What's included?
- You will be provided with all materials throughout the course. All of our students use the earthenware clay, and have access to a full range of tools and glazes.
- The glazing and firing of up to 8 pieces is included in the price of this course. There will be a charge of £10 per extra pot.

* You will need to bring your own apron and towels to clean as you go - It will get very messy!
