Make your very own selection of breakfast implements

About

There is something pretty special about eating and drinking from a vessel made by your own fair hands. In this 5 hour workshop, you’ll learn the foundational techniques of handbuilding and be guided by a professional potter to make a selection of breakfast implements. You’ll be shown a variety of decorating techniques including sgraffito and carving using coloured slips and by the end you’ll choose a mug, spoon and bowl from your makes to be bisque fired and glazed. All clay, tools, glazing and firing included. You don’t need to bring anything with you, apart from short nails (easier for handbuilding) and maybe comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting clay on. Because your pieces will be made using the most durable stoneware clay, they will need to undergo 2 high temp firings after the session and will take approximately 5 weeks to be completed. The team at the Conservatoire will call you when your pieces are ready for collection.
