Shot down in a fireball in the Battle of Britain, his hands were burned to the bone and his face badly charred. Over two years he endured fifteen complex operations under the ground-breaking care of the legendary surgeon, Archibald McIndoe. Despite his horrific injuries Page went on to fly at D-Day, the Battle of Normandy ,and Arnhem.
