Deptford X Visual Arts Festival

About

Deptford's vibrant art scene takes centre stage this July with the return of the much-loved Deptford X Festival.
The 26th edition promises 18 days packed with creativity, community and inspiring art.

Over 500 artists will take part in more than 100 artist-led Fringe projects, alongside eight newly commissioned works and a joyful street parade created in collaboration with Lewisham schools. The festival remains free and open to all, making art accessible in everyday and unexpected places-from shopfronts and cafes to libraries and artist-run galleries.

The Fringe is the heart of Deptford X, showcasing the grassroots energy of local artists, collectives, students and first-time creators. Visitors can experience hands-on workshops, pop-up exhibitions, performances, and even art-led walking tours.

The festival commissions for 2025 feature a dynamic line-up including Ruth Beale, Audrey Damier, Thanh Le Dang, Sonya Dyer, Habib Hajallie, Joseph Ijoyemi, Will Pham, and Harmeet Singh Rahal, with work spanning installation, performance, film, sculpture, photography and more.
With its unique blend of professional and community art, Deptford X celebrates the rich cultural fabric of the area-inviting everyone to explore, participate, and be inspired.
